Little Time, Lots of Progress

Although we were just in the building last week, so much progress has been made since then! You can really see changes almost every day you walk in.  This week workers began the restoration process for the ceiling in what was Beems auditorium as well as repurposing lights from the old library for use in the covered parking area.  We are conscioulsy working with what we have in the space while still adding the modern amenities needed to continue to serve our customers.  Check out these photos of all the work that has been done in just one short week.

All the windows are in and now have a privacy film on the small ones on the bottom.
Tile from last week is completely done on the 1st Street side of the building.

Beginning work on the ceiling in the old Beems Auditorium, our Learning Center, on the first floor.
First floor bathroom has been painted and tiled.  The terra cotta color is beautiful next to the neutral tile.
Behind the sinks in the bathrooms, the other walls will be the reverse tile pattern
The lights you see in the parking areas are repurposed from the original library.

So Many Changes

So much has happened since our last post! We have walls with paint plus tile on the outside of the building.  All the windows are in and the temperature inside is being regulated. We even have a stairway to the second floor of the building. It feels as though we are getting closer and closer to it becoming real!

Take some time and look at the pictures.  You'll see how much progress has been made, too.

Outside long look at the building facade.

This is the furthest north of the building on the 1st street side getting the beautiful tile that
will cover all outside parts of the building that you see Tyvek/white.

The first thing you see when you walk into the lobby of the building is the floating conference room.
And now it has WALLS!

A space in the kitchen/breakroom for booth style seating painted with a really nice green color.

Every 3rd or 4th producer office is painted with a rich light blue.  Unfortunately without lights in the building,
it's really hard to see the color in this photo.

The painted collaboration areas on the second floor look great thanks to the
same green as seen in the kitchen/breakroom above.

Windows & Walls

From the almost completed windows to the almost completed walls, the building continues to move toward fruition.  Many of the windows are now in place and the contractors will soon begin to even out the temperature in the space.  That means the finishing touches are coming soon.

As for the walls, you can now really get a feel for how the office space will be laid out.  You can really see the dimensions of the offices and meeting rooms and how open and inviting the kitchen/break room will feel.

Windows almost finished on the 1st Street side of the building.

Office space with walls and lots of room down the middle for some cubicles.

Drywall & Details!

The space is taking shape and coming to life!  We are excited be able to see more progress inside the building.  Walls are going up and offices are coming together.  It is really starting to look like the space we knew it could be...space full of great views, innovative technology and people, while maintaining the history the space has and the traditions we enjoy at TrueNorth.

It's important for us to maintain some tradition and retain history.
This is where our fishtank will be housed in the new building.
The current fish tank and its inhabitants will move to their new home, too, when we move.

Now time should fly as we see more and more space definition in the weeks to come!

Celebrate!

There has been a lot to celebrate in regards to the building! Every day that the weather is nice we get a little bit closer to the end result and move in day! We took the opportunity on Friday, July 15th to invite each of the contractors, their employees and the TrueNorth staff to attend a celebration -- a thank you, if you will -- for all of their hardwork on the building!

We had over 200 people in attendance at Dublin City for food, fun and live music by a band called FarCry, straight out of Nashville, TN! It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to personally say thank you and get to know some of the people who literally have sweat equity (especially with this heat) in the new building.

The contractors continue to work hard on the building and as a result more exterior changes are taking place. Last week windows started to go in on the second floor. This is very exciting for those of us watching from the "outside," but for those working on the building they serve as a wind block, so they are anxious to get the rest filled in so they can start to temperature control the space so it isn't so hot.

The clock is really ticking as our move-in goal is November! It would be safe to assume that the updates will be more frequent over the next 4 months as it will seem that each day there is major change taking place as the project comes to a close.

Exterior Changes

Progress is being made on the exterior of the building this week.  You will see in the pictures that Tyvek is up in a lot of different places.  It is kind of hard to see, but underneath the cut-outs for the windows in the picture below is some metal framing that will secure the Nichiha product that will be used on the portion of the building that is dark brown on the rendering.

In the next set of pictures you will see a thick dark band that is starting to act like a frame around where the outdoor terrace will be as well as the whole right side of the building.  When you scroll down to the rendering what you will see is they are prepping for the white framing that follows the terrace to the windows all the way down the right hand side of the building.

We have ordered several hardhats and are giving tours to employees every other Friday until we move in.  It will be amazing to see the amount of change that will take place in the next 5 months!

Taking Shape

The outside of the building is continuing to look different every day, but it is behind those walls where the real changes are starting to take place!

Below you will find pictures of a few places throughout the building that are starting to take shape.  The first picture in the series is of the construction phase and the second picture is what the finished product should look like!
